JVC HR-XVC25UDVD/VHS

VHS playback

My 2 year old unit has developed a video "noise" problem when playing back VHS tapes. Manual tracking doesn't help. The tape counter is also "losing" time. I am ready to open the case and try cleaning. Any ideas? Thanks

    Try putting a known good cassette in the unit and put the unit in "CUE" mode. Do this for about 15 minutes. If you notice improvement in the playback picture then the unit does require cleaning. Eric
