Could be the CCD, but might also be the Iris Lens not opening. Take the Corder into a fairly dark area like a closet and look into the front lens. You should see the iris in the wide open position. Shine a flashlight into the lens and you should see the iris close. It functions very much like the iris in the human eye. If the Iris is functioning properly, more than likely the CCD is the problem. Good Luck, Eric
