DCR-TRV33E Blue Screen on Playback

Had C:32:23 Error. This now gone but cannot playback. Get nothing but blue screen.
Any experience on this would be helpful. I have managed to play around long enough for the C: error to go away. This was preventing most things working. Now all works except I cannot use the playback to look at my tapes, nor can I bypass to TV. C:32:23 indicated that my Chasis Assembly needs replacing. If it is not showing the message would this still be the case? I am now considering tossing in the towel and purchasing a new Digi Hard Drive Camera. Any thoughts on this would also be handy. Footnote: Thanks a million to all the guys and girls out there who take the time to use this platform to communicate errors and thoughts. You saved me getting the wool pulled over my eyes when I went to the repair shop for advise. Amazing what a few key questions from the slightly educated will deliver at the technical level!!! Dear Greggo,
I am interested to know if your blue screen on playback problem has been fixed. I am experiencing what seems like the same problem - when I put the camera onto VCR mode to playback any recordings (old footage or just recorded), I get nothing put a blue screen with the LCD touch screen. The commands work fine, but no playback. I would appreciate your help if you have any advice to offer.

I can't help with your problem but would be interested in finding out how it was resolved. I have similar isues see below
I also have a Sony DCR-TRV33E and had great use. However recently something has happened and although it plays back and records there is no picture either recorded or in the viewfider. It seems that something within the optical arrangement may be stuffed up. Any thoughts before I contact Sony??
