Stacey, I have a GR-D91U, and it suddenly stopped working and went into Safegaurd mode. Unfortunatley, it stopped there with the tape loading carriage out. We have had the unit checked by a repair shop, and they said that the cassette loading carriage assembly was bent and that the unit was not worth fixing. I don't know if I completely trust their assesment. He said he disassembled the unit, but I found NO exidence of this. And, after hours of studying the unit, have found NO exidence of a bent carriage. But, even though I am mechanically compentant (IMHO), I am not a trained tech, so my opinion may not be valid. The behavior I have seen in my camcorder seems to resemble a lot of behavior on this board. Is there anything you can reccomend? Is there a place to get hold of the repair manual for this unit?
