Had the same problem... I smacked it into my hand twice and it worked! Hate the wild rotating menu on the screen when the batteries are low, though. Regards, Pascal.

I had dropped my camera. Wouldn't focus, had error message 61:00. Sony page no help.I read the comments on this page, and another page, all saying to bang the camera. I was reluctant to do this, but didn't want to pay a high repair bill that may be half the price of the camera. May as well buy a new one than repair it! So, I banged it a few times on the bottom on a book, and presto! It's back to focusing properly! Thanks for all of your suggestions!
