The same thing was happening to my 27" SonY Trinitron. Had a TV repair guy look at it, he said the transformer had burnt out. Estimated repair $300.....yeah right.

James - did you ever resolve your Sony TV problem...same thing happened to mine last week....thinking I should just buy a new TV, since repair will likely be too high. Greg
