... and what if the problem does not go away? You didn't answer that. I use jvc tapes, one got stuck, I got a head cleaning message, cleaned the head, still getting error messages. I wasn't using a battery. The error message is about safety mode. There should be nothing wrong with this camera because I read the manual from cover to cover, follow proper maintenance and storage, and this problem is not addressed. If this is not happening to you, you can't imagine how frustrating it is to have an unreliable camera. It's worse than not having one... I took this to my brother's 'paddle out' funeral in Hawaii and just when I needed it to work for me... error. I was in broadcasting where we used JVC equipment extensively, something in the company has surely tanked.
