Hi Theo,
Wanted it to transfer heap of casettes to MP3. Just like you had found it at a Trash & Treasure Sale and noticed that it did seem to be a very well made unit compared to all the cheap models available. Was the battery you obtained one with the terminals very close together on the the top end ??????. I am thinking of getting an AA battery adaptor. is it possible for you to send me a photo of the battery adaptor you have and the fitting end.
Thanks,
You have a good day.

ok Oscar,
Yes, the battery looks like a small kit-kat candy bar, with 2 small terminals close together at one end. I have 2 original batteries but they are dead. Have not yet recieved the new one. I saw one for sale on ebay from england. New old stock, no guarantees, cheap.
I have a AA battery pack which thumbscrews onto the cassette unit. I don't recall if it works in conjunction with the factory batt or can go independant of the internal battery.
I'll try to get a pic to you and attach to an e-mail, when I can, ok.
Anyway, this player cost over $300.00 new, I recall. Good luck, maybe one day you can sell to me or I'll sell to you my whole setup. I need to transfer some voice tapes of departed family members to CD in MP3. I remember it was finicky, inside the cover it tells you to reset the unit if the display acts up. Also the charger has small alignment 'tangs' which break off easily, I had to get a replacement when new.
