I had similar issue with my JVC MiniDV camcorder. I ended up purchasing a video edit software called: Pinnacol ver 9. It comes with an internal card that allows you to hook up your video camera to the card and the software recoginizes the camcorder. Afterwards I was able to copy my tapes onto my harddrive and then I can make a CD or DVD from the file off of my harddrive. This was my first experience with all of this. Although a little painful in the learning phase, it turned out ok. Hope that helps. dw
