Home | Previous messageI tried to hook camcorder to XP and a Win2000 computers and they are not recognized. Not sure how to transfer from tape to PC I tried on 2 different PC's and I hook up the USB cable to the camcorder, then to the USB port on the PC and then turn on camcorder to 'Play' mode. Nothing happens, the PC does not recognize the USB connection. Do I need to do anything else? I have not loaded the software that came with the DV camcorder as of yet.

I had similar issue with my JVC MiniDV camcorder. I ended up purchasing a video edit software called: Pinnacol ver 9. It comes with an internal card that allows you to hook up your video camera to the card and the software recoginizes the camcorder. Afterwards I was able to copy my tapes onto my harddrive and then I can make a CD or DVD from the file off of my harddrive. This was my first experience with all of this. Although a little painful in the learning phase, it turned out ok. Hope that helps. dw |
