I have a GRD30U that has no video at all. It may have been banged around a bit but can't be certain. Basically it has no video from the lens assembly. e.g. Record mode has audio but no video in LCD or viewfinder at all. Flashes lens cap and landscape indicator (focus?). Everything else works fine in play mode..

    yoiu can go to the jvc website and get the info for a free fix. The camera was built with a defective part. I have the same camera that had the same problem. I sent it in, they fixed it free of charge and it works great now. Good Luck
