I have a JVC GR-DVL817u when i turn it on i get an error that says, "E01 UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE REMOVE AND REATTACH BATTERY" I remover and reattached the battery but keep getting the same error, please help me out

Hi Paul - It's Christmas Eve and I have discovered the same problem with my JVC camcorder as you had - an error that it's in safeguard mode and that I need to remove and reattach battery... What did you end up doing?? I was hoping to continue the family tradition and use the camcorder in the morning, but that might not be happening... Do you have any functions? (eg: load and eject)
