Re: Sony TV suddenly dead!

sonyowner Posted May 22, 2005, in response to:ravi

Hi. Did u figure out what was wrong with your TV. I have a similar problem. Mine is a KV32S40. When I turn the TV on everything is fine. After a few minutes, the video shrinks and shuts blank. Audio is still OK. I tried to mess with some components in the V-OUt section of the PCBoard, and changesd a cap, and got it to work for 10 hrs, and it is doing the same again. In some other msg. boards, I heard that sony had a reputation for bad solderd joints that act up over a period of time. I am planning on taking the board out and inspecting for some visual signs before getting it repaired or junked. Sad part is that it is only 4-5 yrs old and everything was excellent. Will appreciate if you could share your findings. Thanks. Sonyowner
