HomeI have a JVC GR DV-500U digital video camera and the tape ejection mechanism came up but wouldn't open to release the tape. The tape itself got wound up in the works and the screen keeps saying "EO3 unit in safeguard mode - eject and reinsert tape". Can i fix this? Is it just a stuck tape or an indication of some other problem? My Main problem is that I am living in Inuvik Northwest territories and there isn't anyone within 1000 kms to fix it. I would like to be able to do it mysellf. Help!

thanks i guess i'll be shoppin' for a new camera then We ended up sending it away. the ejection motor was burnt out and it ended up costing over $200 ( with no real guarantee that it would be completely fixed!). we got the camera back and the tape part worked but we had lost sound and the video would cut out. we ended up buying a new camera. it seems that it is almost cheaper and easier to replace stuff like this than to get it fixed. we really like our new camera though. it is a panasonic! yeah man, i'm havin' the EXACT same probaly with my camera, and it ended up eatin' my tape also, so if you find out anyway to fixed it could you email me, peace |
