HomeSony home stereo PROTECTOR indicator I have a Sony STR-D990 home stereo receiver. The "PROTECTOR" circuit has just started to continuously activate. The product manual's Troubleshooting section says it may be caused by a short-circuit. If no short can be found, contact Sony. I can't disconnected every input and output buy it still displays PROTECTOR.

Schematics pls. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks. I have service manual for this model. in your set open surround tr/str then plug in. i hope your set is normely start. if any problem ask me. thank you I'm having the same problem but don't know what's causing it. Did you get it resoloved? I'm not as skilled at electrical as other responders but I read another article that finalized by saying to "check fuse 953; it's on the main board (the big one on the bottom)in the front corner that doesn't have the fan connector. Glass cylindrical fuse available at Radio Shack" It might work for you...good luck |
