For those of you, like myself suffering the neverending problems with your JVC Mini-DV's, I believe I may have solved one problem and possibly more. I was having chronic problems with the Condensation and Clean Head errors. JVC was no, and I mean NO help. This is for those that are at the end of their ropes. I removed every single tiny little screw on the exterior case. All the screws on the inside of the viewer abd also there is one inside the S-Video flap if yours comes equipped. There is also a screw on the top on the piece in front of the eye viewer. Carefully, and I mean carefully, seperate the pieces. Inside there are a few connectors that connect the two halves. The one closest to the rear (thumb switch), if unplugged will do a "hard reset". Leave unplugged for about 5 minutes (atleast that is how long I left it unplugged). It has been good for a couple days now. You will have to reset time and date and settings but, this has, atleast for the time being solved both of my problems. And they were problems that popped up everytime I turned on the camera. It progressively has gotten worse over the last few months. I havent been able to use it at all since 3 minutes before the birth of my son 3 weeks ago. I actually thought I might get to video the birth but because of JVC's lack of engineering ability and total disregard for the consumers who buy their products, I had to be satisfied with still pictures. GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!! My camera is a JVC GRD-90u. The 11 screws method works again!!! Another JVC GR70 working again after 2 years of being hidden at the back of the drawer. Thank you I had followed the instruction provided by "Anonymous" dated "- 22nd Jun 2006 23:16". It worked for me. Thanks a ton for such a Splendid guidance to do the reset. Just wanted to say thank you for the help its been 2 yrs since ive been able to use my jvc dvr] working great now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a JVC GRD31-ek which is another close relation to the camcorder in question, it has had "condensation operation paused" and "E01 Unit in Safeguard mode Remove and reattach battery" errors reoccuring continuously for over a year. I also have a tape in the camcorder which does not come out when I open the tape door. I have followed the 11 screw method word for word (the only difference being there is no sd card slot on my model) and reassembled, when I swithed it on I hear the motor for a moment before it returns to "E01" error. when I restart the camcorder now it comes back to condensation error, but with a tape stuck inside there is no way to reach the condensation sensor, Is there a way to remove the tape deck with a tape inserted for the purpose of cleaning the condensation filter? Have you tried tuning your camera off and on rapidly? This should reset it for you. This worked for me. Have you tried tuning your camera off and on rapidly? This should reset it for you. This worked for me. i have the same problem I love the internet. and I love the sharing of Info. The 11 screws method does work. and it's easy. I did not have access to the air burst cans so I did the next best thing. HAIR DRYER. It doesn't work. I had the thing on full blast with the styling funnel for about 10 minutes and nothing happened. I don't think the machine is detecting a condensation condition. But, instead, a preset condensation detector may be becoming faulty. I imagine that this condensation condition will reappear from time to time. In two years time, we may all have to concede to the fact that the machine is outdated and a new one should be bought. The Qtip procedure described above did not work for me, but I tried the 11 screw procedure and it cleared the problem right up. Creds and Kudos to you guys for posting the solution; you saved me hundreds of dollars. Incidentally, the procedure is easier than it looks upon reading it. You might want to equip yourself with a pair of tweezers if you have clumsy fingers like me. It took me 10 minutes to do the whole thing and there were no unpleasant surprises...yet... Thanks again |
