Re: JVC service or questions

Cindy Barwald Posted Dec 04, 2004, in response to:Stacy Sample

Did a search on Google and was led here. Trying to send video through TDK 4-pin IEEE 1394 cable to JVC GR-D30U from Sony GV-D900 Walkman -- DVin/out to DVin/out. Followed the steps in JVC Manual. Will go as far as the JVC Start/Stop button in pause, but when I press it again, will not go into record. Tried to play JVC into Walkman. Walkman will go into record but only recorded a blue screen when I play it back. What's wrong? Thanks, Cindy

That I don't know for sure. Never tried to use camcorder with such a device. You may wish to contact Customer Care at (800) 252-5722 or (800) 537-5722 if my guess below does not answer this question. My opinion from experience (utilizing firewire to PC functions) With fire wire to PC for instance...the PC has to have the proper hardware and software program (sold seperately) to recognize the camcorder. All the camcorder does is send the digital video info to the PC or device hooked up thru firewire. YOur Sony Walkman is the PC in this instance. If the Sony is not recognizing the signal from the camcorder...it is probably the Sony having the problem. If the Sony has the needed software to read the camcorder...then it should work. the camcorder just sends video images....the other device captures them. None of our camcorders come with hardware or software for video transfer they just come with the ability to do that function via fire wire connection.
