I have a GR-D90U while in playback mode and connected by firewire to my Powerbook, I got the blue screen of death with the E04 error. It's telling me to remove and reinsert the cassette, but the camera will not eject the tape. The door will open but the tape will not automatically eject as usual. This is not the first time I have used this camera in this mode. I take footage and import it onto my Mac. In researching this problem, the outlook does not look good. Many have said nothing has been done by JVC and nothing can be done on your own. The camera was purchased in May; this is a bit too soon and the camera was a it too pricey to just just chalk it up to a lemon. Do I put on my gloves and get ready for a fight with JVC? Thank you
