oh man, thank you so much! (i'm glad to see i wasn't the only one who was totally confused by this problem and spent a LONG time trying to run the belt thru the gears and stuff. haha.)

Hey you guys, I had the same problem and I just figured it out. I'm not sure if you have already figured it out yourself s, but I thought I would post this anyway. What you do first is attach the belt to the ledge around the bottom of the silver platter. then you put the platter back onto the turntabe. now you can follow step number 4 in the manual. you won't have a ribbon but you can use something to attach the belt to the motor pully. Hope this helps.

Hey, yeah i just hooked this up myself from those directions cause i accidently pulled it off one night. you can use a tally-ho to hook around the belt too. thanks matey
