Re: Re: SONY C:13:01 ERROR

THE PROBLEM: I have a Sony Mavica CD500 and recently had the C:13:01 file read error. The problems began when I switched from using Memorex to TDK mini cds, although I'm unsure if the brand of cds are really the culprit. After waiting several minutes for the camera to finish "fixing data", the mini-cd was unreadable and couldn't even download the photos through the USB cable connected to the notebook computer.
THE SOLUTION: I installed and used the CDRoller program (http://www.cdroller.com) to diagnose the mini-cd on my notebook computer, after adjusting the 'Preferences' section according to the instructions. The program managed to salvage my friend's homecoming pictures on that cd, a once in a lifetime experience! And so, I'm back to using Memorex mini-cds and haven't had the problem since.
Here are some helpful notes to avoid this problem altogether.
1. Always have sufficient battery when using the camera to take pictures, initializing and finalizing mini-cds.
2. Never turn off the camera while it's doing anything, for example, while the red light next to the LCD screen is on.
3. Take a photograph at a time to properly save the image to the mini-cd.
4. Read the instruction manual thoroughly to understand the camera's functions and procedures.
All in all, I've taken many professional quality photographs with my Sony CD500, and with it's minor limitations, the advantages far exceed them.

HI, I have the same problem with the same camera, disc, etc. I tried using a new memorex disc and still got the same 13:01 error code. Did you ever find out if its the disc or camera, would appreciate a replly. Also do you have to buy the cdroller or can you get a copy. Thanks, Candy
