did you every resolve the problem. I just picked up one of these things at a garage sale and it will not read any discs.

    Mine started skipping real bad yesterday, then I took the disc out and blew some air in it. Now I get the no disc message also. I tried one of the lens cleaner discs along with compressed air. Neither of them worked. Then I noticed the disc is not spinning, because when I put the disc in and it tries to read it and then I eject it, the disc is in the exact same position. So you guys are right it doesn't seem to be spinning. To bad I usually break everything I try to fix, so I guess I will have to take it to a repair shop and see if they try to shaft me.

    I had the same problem and I took it to a repair shop. they replaced the motor on the dvd player, because it was not spinning it could not read the disks. you can check it by simply taking the cover off and watching after you load a disk.
