I tried to go to the menu and couldn't see power options. I saw Title and beside it auto/manual. A few minutes later I turned the camera on and because it said dew detected I couldn't even get the menu to show up.???? Any other help on this?

yes it is possible to turn it off. depress the menu button scroll down to power options and then click on auto and it should go to manual..
