John Posted Sep 29, 2003

Camera on/off dial broken. Need parts diagram.

I have a JVC digital video camera (GR-DVM70) and the on/off dial came off. I'm looking for a parts diagram so I can order replacement parts.

I have the exact same problem with my camera, the on & off switch came off. but I did use the remote that comes with the camera, and that worked for a little while. I also called alot of camera shops and also I called JVC and they said it would be cheaper to buy another camera then to fix it. So if anyone finds anything else out, please let me know. Thanks Mary

Same problem the dial fell off. one would think JVC would stand behind their product. I kept my GR-DVM70 in my camera bag. When I went to use it the dial was sitting at the bottom of the case. It does not seem worth it to have it fixed for 200 + dollars.

My power/control also broke. After checking repair costs I bought a tube of epoxy (JB Weld) and using a toothpick I applied a tiny droplet on the tiny plastic extrusions on the broken off dial. I carefully placed back on and applied pressure (a heaby book) for 24 hours. Here it is 6 months later and constant use and it's stronger than ever. Don't try this unless you have special skills with your hands.

I had the same problem the dial just came off. We may have to take action for JVC to fix this design flaw

I think you need to get the switch as a "complete assembly". I called the JVC order line. Price $125.

Mine just dropped off. Tried ordering a rotary switch from JVC based on parts list from the jvcservice.com web site, however, the switch that showed up bears no resemblance to any switch in the camera. Will try again.
