I Need A Firewire Jack for my HVR- Z1U

I purchased a HandyCam DCR-HC42 in March of 2005. I have only used it a few times. The cassette drawer would eject and retract very slowly. I thought this was okay for this model. Last fall I went to use it and it stopped working completely. If I leave the tape out, the door ejects and closes perfectly. Once I put a tape in, it begins the process of closing and moves a fraction of an inch before it stops. I close the case and reopen it and it ejects the tape ( it was never fully inserted ). Can I fix this?

IN THE PASS THIS HAPPENED IT WAS A FUSE WHERE IS THE FUSE LOCATED?

BUT IN THE PASSED THIS HAPPEN AND IT WAS A FUSE IF YOU COULD PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THIS IS LOCATED SO I COULD FIX THIS THE TAPE IS STUCK AND WOULD LIKE TO GET IT OUT DO YOU THINK THE BATTERY MAY OF WENT BAD THEY SAY THEY ONLY LAST A COUPLE OF YEARS I HATES TO BUY ONE IF YOU THINK ITS SOMETHING ELSE.
