JVC SR VS20 Problems

JVC SR VS20 Problems in general

I would like to get some feedback from anyone using or have used the JVC SR-VS20 and any of the problems they have run into.Be it Audio,Video, glitches and Firewire issues.
And,if sent in for repair, did the problems get resolved?

my unit has worked flawlessly till a week ago and now the dv port is dead.
i lent it to a pc person who cpuldn't get it to work and now my mac can't see it either.
