My Panasonic handycam model NV GS35 which was rarely used was working very well when I was using it last month. I recorded a event for about 15 minutes during the day. Later on in the evening, I played back the event to view on the LCD screen which it did quite nicely. I stopped viewing after about a few minutes as I had to do something else. After a while when I put it ON again, the handycam did not come ON. I recharged the battery too. That too did not help. The battery is good. The 'red' On light never came On. I took it to the local service centre and I was told that my camcorder is 'DEAD'. I cannot even retrieve the minidv cassette from the unit now.
My query is:
1) What can be the problem?
2) How should I go about solving the problem?
3) Any help on how to go about opening the camcorder and troubleshooting it?

Please help me to figure out the problem. Thanks in advance.
