The tapping ....It works in Montreal!!

I was getting really annoyed with the no zooming feature and E:61:10. The zoom is back!
I kept smacking the video camera dsc-trv280 until the E:61:10 stopped. However my viewfinder is in black and white.
Anybody know why?
