Did white screen fix, now camera won't respond to on/off button

Hey, I did Bob's "white screen fix", lightly rapping on the cybershot symbol and it "reset" the lcd ribbon and all was well. Shortly afterwards it went white again, went through procedure, white screen went away but now the lens is locked in the open position and camera won't respond to the on/off button. It's in limbo between on and off, frozen with the lens partly out. I've removed batteries but nothing seems to work. Any thoughts?
