Sony KV32S20 TV, No video

No Video on SONY TV

Hi, Bought this TV in 1996. Has worked perfectly until today. When I turned on the TV I briefly saw a very bright white line with a small video image behind it then that disappeared and now screen is black, just like it looks when the tv is turned off. I still have full audio, and the red light on the front of the tv where it says "standby/stereo" is blinking, normally when I turn on the tv that light only blinks until the video shows up on the screen which happens about 3-5 seconds after turning the tv on, then it's steady red light. But now it just blinks and there never appears any video on the screen at all. Is there a way I can fix this? Because I'd be very tough for me to take this TV to a repair shop, since the TV weighs I'm guessing 200 pounds or more, judging by the fact that I can barely lift it 2 inches off it's stand, and I'm 39 year old male and can lift 80 pound bags of concrete at work, so this TV is mega heavy, no way I'm going to be able to get it to a repair shop. So if I can't fix this myself it's toast and I have to go out and buy a new one. Looking for advice. Thank you.

No one knows if this is repairable? This tv is too heavy for me to move by myself, so I am not able to take it to a repair shop, would have to have a repairman come to my house if it were to be repaired. So I'm trying to compare what that might cost to the cost of just buying a new one (which would be about $600). Thanks for any input.

The red light is blinking. I tried those steps already when I was speaking with Sony cust. serv. Pretty basic stuff, which I had already tried anyway. Same problem though. Is this not repairable?

The Sony customer service suggesting next: " If there is a red LED that blinks On and Off and the TV is not operating properly, this indicates that there may be an issue with the TV. Before calling customer support, please try to restore the TV operation by following the steps below: 1. Try turning the power Off and then On by pressing the power button on the TV. 2. Remove AC power from the TV for one minute by unplugging the TV from the outlet or power strip. 3. Reset the TV to the original factory settings. " Relax, it is time to upgrade your TV, it costs money but it is fun to buy brand new plasma or lcd.
