Blinking Screen

Got this Sony from my brother 6months ago. Best tv I've ever had, until 2 days ago. Started the screen blinking black every 10 sec. Read every forum I could find on Sony blinking screen. Tried the adj. screw. Helped a little but still doing it. I'm disabled so I cannot lift this monster to take to repair shop. Had to pay 2 people to bring it in. I really would like to fix it myself. I have Electonic background with servicing medical equip. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Mark
