Sony/BTS BVW/BCP 70 CTL not running

Hi, I do have an Sony/BTS Betacam Recorder/Player BVW/BCP 70 that works great, after a tape got stuck in the unit upon eject, went thru the manual eject procedure to eject the tape, afterwards when inserting another tape it runs fine, but the CTL does not register in play mode or rew and ffwd mode to keep the tape deck in synch and would go into ERROR 03 The time code does register o.k. I would appreciate a suggestion where would be a good start point to troubleshoot this problem. Thanks Richinald
