Although I am not particularly acquaint with Sony brand camcorders the error code you mention (C:32:23) indicates on my list as a tape supply reel fault, this being followed by the usual procedural advice of "Remove the battery or power cable, connect, and perform operations from the beginning" If you have tried more than one tape and the problem is still there then its inclined to indicate that the mechanism spindle is possibly sticking, maybe by the brake band having came undone etc, etc.
