There is absolutely nothing a non technical person can do externally with not only this, but indeed most faults of this nature, with that applying across a large range of different brands and not just Sony, and although said with respect, but I feel that most people who ask this sort of question is really doing so with an element of wishful thinking, as about the only faults that possibly can be cured externally are always associated with tuning and channel problems.
