Repair or Replace Sony DE835 Receiver?

Hello, I have a 10 year old Sony DE835 receiver. As we were watching a TV show it all of a sudden lost audio and the "Protector" light came on. After reviewing the manual, I checked all the incoming connections and all connections to the 5.1 speaker system. It all appeared to be tight and snug. We have been pleased with the overall performance of this item. I have never had any difficulties with this unit until now. The light that states "Protector" comes on after about 15-20 seconds when we turn it on. Do you have any suggestions to correct this problem? Is this unit worth repairing, if so... about how much would it be. Thanks for your help. Sincerely, Harrell
