This works!

I had just about given up. I beat this thing senseless, with my hands, on my desk, dropped it on the floor from 3-4 feet!, and nothing. Today, I took an old laptop battery (from a sony) and I smacked it as hard as I could on the barrel - I thought it would break it it was so hard. Now it works. Just saved me $400 for a new cam.
