Wow I have been messing with this thing for a week now I got one at a garage sale for $10 (the gr-d22u) and it had the lens cap error. I was reading these threads and came across your post and thought, why not, so I tried it and could not believe that just holding it up to the light fixed it. For how long I dont know but hey it was only 10 bucks thanks!
