Are you positive that when you recorded the still images that you didn't accidentally have "continuous shoot" selected? as that would result in what appears to be video footage, if of course that doesnt apply then are you sure that you have "camera" selected and not "video" when you are transferring the images you have taken into the PC? as your problem suggests a settings error.
