Unit plays fine, but right side speakers both garbled.

I have had this unit for about 8 years on my '97 Cadillac DeVille. Recently, whenever I use the CD, both of the right side speakers produce only garble. The rest of the speakers have normal sound. With just the radio in use, all speakers operate normally. Could this be an RF modulator going out or something else? I really like the unit but want to hear it properly.
