Homeshaded box on screen blacked out rectangle box appears on screen in the area where the control display would be. Hit exit on the remote and goes away, but for only 30 seconds.

I think it would be a bit more helpful if you mentioned the exact brand of TV you are referring to, although what you mention suggests the closed caption (CC on remote) facility of a JVC brand, this requiring to be turned off. |
