Re: My JVC, GR-DV500U wont turn on!

Nothing much that you can do as it strongly suggests that the main input fuse has blown, this of course being a special soldered in type on the main PCB which requires replacing by a person suitably qualified in working with precision pieces of equipment "and" having a fine pointed soldering iron. Although the fuse could have failed through a positive fault having developed they can though occasionally fail for no particular obvious reason as "just one of these things", so its not necessarily a doom and gloom scenario.

Well assuming that you dont actually know anyone of the type mentioned I dont think you really have much choice, although I would strongly advise you to get an estimate first and carefully select where you take it so as "not" to get conned (a definite possibility) by someone making out that there must be a lot more wrong with it than just the fuse having gone, which of course there could be!! but however going by track record in most cases it is only the fuse at fault. By the way, replacing the fuse should not take any longer than approx one hours work by anyone with a suitably equipped service bench, and who is experienced in working with devices such as camcorders etc.
