They didn't actually recall them as such as this would have been difficult if not indeed logistically impossible! but however JVC websites in both the US and the UK had published a list of models which would qualify for the free repair if certain conditions were met with hundreds having taken advantage of the offer which ran for nearly three years, however JVC and its agents in Australia and New Zealand cared "not" to broadcast this even although it applied there as well and thats why you would possibly not have known about it, AA being either Australia or NZ.
