How to Convert MTS/M2Ts Files to AVI for Saving and Sharing
What is MTS/M2TS file?
The MTS/M2TS file type is primarily associated with AVCHD, a high-definition digital video format that supports 1080i and 720p with a reasonably small file size, which has been jointly developed by Sony and Panasonic. When we’re talking about the AVCHD, there is no difference between the mts and m2ts files except other than the filename. We even can rename one to each other. You may also have noticed that the files on camcorder or files dragged from camcorder to PC are .MTS extension. However, if you use Pixela or PMB to import/copy them to PC, those files will have extension .M2TS. Exactly, they are identical.
How can we play MTS/M2TS files in AVCHD format?
AVCHD files are based on the MPEG4 CODEC, can be burned to Blu-ray discs and played in compatible devices, such as Blu-ray disc players and the Sony PlayStation3. Also, the files can be played back directly from a camcorder on an HD television set, through HDMI or component-video cable. On a computer, the files can be played from the camcorder connected via USB as an external storage device, or from removable media or from the computer's internal hard disk drive. Presently, the default media players from Apple (QuickTime) will not play AVCHD natively.

Step 1. Download and install iSharesoft MTS Video Converter.
Step 2. Add files. Click Add File(s) button on the toolbar, select video or audio files you want to convert in the dialog box that opens, and add them into the file list.
Step3. Select output format. Choose one or more files in the file list, and open Profile drop-down list, then select an output format for selected files. You can also set different formats for different files.
Step 4. Set output folder and convert file
Click Browse button in the settings panel, select a destination folder in the dialog box that opens, and click OK. After finishing the above settings, check the files needed to convert in the file list, and click Convert .
