Tape Holder will not open & eject tape

When I try to open and eject tape it start to open just a little and then stops. Power source is putting out full voltage. I haven't used it in about 5 years but 2-3 years ago I did check to see if I could still play back on TV and it worked OK but I left the tape in apparently.
