It should be pointed out that any query on a lens cap problem should always indicate what the model involved is, as this is very important as a range of DF models suffered from this problem but were excluded from the special free repair offer as JVC maintained that they weren't fitted with the same defective sensors as was used in D or DX models plus a few others.
Although the offer expired at the end of June 2009 it is known that JVC in "some" countries / areas will still carry out the repair, its a case of contacting the JVC customer services appropriate to wherever located.
