The Error 400-000 indicates a hard drive error. While it is possible that the hard drives have failed, it is more likely that the directory or some other file structure on the hard drive has been corrupted.
You can do a diagnostic by going into the maintenance menu. This is done by pushing in the menu wheel while you press the menu button. Scroll down to ENHANCE and turn it ON. Then go up to MAINTE01 and select this so it blinks. Turn the menu wheel and go to MAINTE06. Here you can check the hard drive and reformat the hard drive. If the check passes, reformat the drive and try it again. If it still gives you an error than the hard drive would need to be replaced.
