Sony HC85 MiniDV tape stuck but everything works.

The tape is stuck but everything seems to work. Error code C31:30 . I tried the power off, open door, remove battery, position on, and reinstall battery method but the tape is still stuck. The motor spins but tape doesn't come out. During previous on/off cycle attempts to rremove the tape, the tape mechanism started to lift up slightly but then reverted back to closed. Sometimes the motor will spin for a long while with the door open, but tape doesn't eject. Any ideas?
