Problems with "sync" in screen and set up wheel

Problem w/camera as follows: When the camera is set to the green camera icon on the control wheel, the rectangle almost covers the entire view screen. Also, the icons on the wheel do not "sync" with the icons which appear in the view screen. When taking new photos, the pictures in the review area do not appear clear. HELP !!!
