On similar range models there is a 1000ufd @ 35volt electrolytic capacitor associated with the vertical drive circuitry which is a known failing point and so I would concentrate my efforts in that region, as when this item fails the resulting symptoms are exactly as you describe. Unfortunately I haven't my service info to hand at present so cant pinpoint the exact location of the capacitor, however its located near to the vertical scan IC.
