Went to turn on my T.V. and it made a pop, came on,then a week it made a pop when I attempted to turn it on. We rent a power protecter from our power company so it was not from lag or surge. Has anyone heard of cause for this?

Hate to give money away to repairman, but may have it checked and post back if it was positivly resolved. I do not have a manual and have not found any links that may have a list of problems and solutions. Please help! I may call the company this week because I do have a protection plan but no expiring date on the reciept from sears, so there is another call I need to make.
