Unfortunately there isn't really much you can do about this as its not an operational problem, what you could try though purely for test purposes is to couple the camcorder into a TV using its A/V connector just to verify that its not the LCD monitor thats developed a fault, as if it is then you will be able to get the menu etc on the TV screen provided the TV's auxiliary input is selected via its remote control.
The battery charge indicator going out could just be because the battery has been detected as being fully charged, however if this doesnt apply then everything points to an internal fault having developed in the camcorder.
You mention the device was purchased in Singapore but from what source? as these places are notorious for selling goods of an "iffy" background.
Dependant on where you are in India a person who has a repair facility somewhere in India posts on this site (e-mail address garg.davy@gmail.com) and so he may possibly be able to assist you with the problem albeit on a chargeable basis.
